Call us to discuss at 800-968-6006 The Weathervane Shoppe Cupolas are manufactured with quality materials and strict attention to detail. When you combine good materials and professional workmanship you get a cupola that is a cut above the competition. Here is a breakdown of our parts and the materials used. Standard Roof: - We start with oriented strand board that is made with water resistant adhesives.
- We add a redwood or poplar arch.
- We put a support block with a 1/4" hole in the top and a brace across the bottom so a weathervane can be installed.
- We clad the roof with copper and seal all joints with 50 year silicone.
Pagoda Style Roof: - We start with either a redwood or poplar roof edge.
- We put a support block with a 1/4" hole in the top of the roof.
- We add rafters which are attached to the roof edge and top support block.
- We put a support brace across the bottom for weathervane installation.
- We form 1/4" luan over the rafters.
- We install either a redwood or poplar arch.
- We clad the roof with copper and seal all joints with 50 year silicone.
Tower: - The tower contains the louvered sections and may be made from redwood or polar.
- We install the louver sections between corner posts and then attach a sill with a rain groove for water run-off.
- Insect screen is provided for the inside of the louver sections.
Base: - The base is made from clear grade of exterior plywood.
- The base can be made any height to accommodate the pitch of the roof the cupola will be mounted on.
Hardware: - We supply brass screws to attach the roof, tower and base together.
- We have a special locator block to attach the tower to the base.
- Complete assembly and painting instructions are included.
